The idea for Love Renovate was born out of a need for accessible and easy-to-understand information after my husband, Andy, and I took on our own renovation project. We bought a home in an area we loved with the right amount of space, but the layout was all wrong for our needs. Knowing the potential the property had, we took on the project and found that the process was harder than it actually needed to be.
After leaving my job in Finance for maternity leave, I began to put pen to paper and decided to set up a blog on home renovations shortly after our son was born in the Autumn of 2015. The blog was focussed on sharing articles that made the process of renovating easy to understand, and the more posts I wrote (as our son napped in coffee shops!), the more passionate I became about simplifying the renovation process for my readers.
As the blog became more popular, Andy and I decided we wanted to create a product that would make the renovation process easier for everyone, so after our daughter was born in the Autumn of 2017, Andy left his job in Finance and we both began creating Love Renovate.
Working with industry experts we began creating a suite of planning tools, starting with an easy-to-use checklist and a simple budget tool. Since launching in the Spring of 2018, we have added further planning tools and a supplier and professional search tool, which launched in the Spring of 2019.
As Love Renovate has grown so has our team. We are now a team of five and are based in Marlow, in Buckinghamshire. It has been so amazing to find people who share our passion for renovation and we are all really excited about what is to come this year.
