Our story

Summoning a diversity of cultural and educational backgrounds, RYD is led by Esme Rothwell and Tony Yu.

Esme Rothwell has delivered residential and cultural projects focusing on the individual to medium scale. She has worked with many private clients to improve the quality of their homes. Her approach centres on holistically and sustainably refining wellbeing in the built environment in negotiating the changing requirements of her clients and society.

Tony Yu has delivered projects from medium to large scale in the commercial, recreational and educational typologies, his previous clients have been Mars, IBM, BASF, GSK, Universities and international schools. His speculative investigations and research are tested through his academic design studio in association with Universities in London, UK. Tony is continuously developing his design philosophy to explore innovative means of using and interpreting the spaces we live in.

As a group of ardent professionals, our duty is to strive towards improvement when faced with novel opportunities and territories and provide feasible solutions indiscriminately to all project scales and scopes.
