Net lights make it easy to give a hedge or shrub an even spread of Christmas sparkle, without winding strings through every branch. We’ve picked six outdoor sets for everything from a small bush by the front door to a long garden hedge, including a multicolour option if you fancy something brighter.
Check the net’s width and height against the area you want to cover, as well as the separate cable length back to the plug. For an uneven hedge or a tree you’d like to wrap with lights, you’ll find more options in our tree-and-hedge lights guide.

A closer look at each set
For a compact hedge face
1. ANSIO 2m × 2m Warm White Net Lights
ANSIO lists 200 warm-white LEDs over a 2m by 2m mesh, with a separate 10m lead. The square shape is useful for a short, fairly even section of hedge or a broad shrub. It has a steady setting among eight modes and an eight-hour timer. Check that both dimensions fit; the 2m depth can be excessive for a low hedge.

Choose it if: A square net is easier to place on a compact, even face.
Consider instead: The 2m drop may need more hedge height than you expect.
For an average-width hedge
2. Ollny 3m × 2m Warm White Net Lights
This Ollny mesh has 210 warm-white LEDs over a 3m by 2m area, with a separate 5m lead. Its listing marks the light string IP67 and includes a remote and timer choices. That rating is for the stated string, not an automatic rating for the plug or adaptor. Spread the mesh over a regular hedge face without pulling it tight around branches.

Choose it if: The wider mesh covers more hedge in one piece than a square net.
Consider instead: A 5m lead may be short if the hedge is away from the house.
For a long, level hedge
3. Ollny 6m × 2m Warm White Net Lights
With 360 LEDs across a 6m by 2m net, this Ollny set is a good option for a long, fairly even hedge. It comes with a separate 6m lead, a remote and timer settings. The seller gives the light string an IP67 rating; check the instructions separately for the plug and any connections.
Measure your hedge before buying and check where you’ll secure the net across its width. For a small shrub or a hedge that varies considerably in height, a smaller net or flexible string may be easier to arrange.

Choose it if: A single wide mesh can give an even line across a long hedge.
Consider instead: There is more mesh to manage and store, especially if the hedge is shorter than 6m.
For a colourful compact display
4. ANSIO 2m × 2m Multicolour Net Lights
The multicolour version of ANSIO’s 2m square net has 200 LEDs, a separate 10m lead and an eight-hour timer. It gives a different look from the warm-white sets without asking you to cover a large area. As with the other nets, measure the visible face and read the supplied instructions for the plug and transformer before putting it outside.

Choose it if: A defined 2m square makes a colourful section without mixing several strings.
Consider instead: The colours and square shape will not suit every hedge or scheme.
For a lower hedge with a distant socket
5. Gresonic 2.5m × 1.8m Warm White Net Lights
This 320-LED net measures 2.5m wide by 1.8m high, making it a good fit for a slightly lower hedge. A separate 10m lead gives you more room to reach a socket if you’re decorating further from the house, and there are eight lighting modes and a timer to choose from.
The seller gives the light string an IP44 rating, but check the transformer’s instructions separately to see where it can safely go.

Choose it if: A 2m-deep net would hang too low, and you need a longer lead.
Consider instead: Its 2.5m width may not cover an average-length hedge in one piece.
For a 4m hedge near the house
6. Abkshine 4m × 2m Warm White Net Lights
At 4m wide and 2m deep, this 300-LED net fills the gap between the 3m and 6m sets. It has a remote with lighting and timer controls, and the seller marks the mesh light string IP44. The separate lead is only 3m, so measure the route to a suitable socket before choosing it. Check the supplied instructions for where its plug, controller and any connections can safely sit.

Choose it if: You have a fairly even 4m stretch close to the house.
Consider instead: The 3m lead gives you less room to reach a suitable socket than the other sets here.
What to check before buying
Match both sides of the mesh
Compare the net’s width and drop with the part of the hedge facing you. A 2m-deep net can hang too far down a low hedge, even when its width is right. Avoid pulling a smaller mesh taut to cover a bigger area; that can strain the wiring.
Allow for the route to power
The lead starts where the first bulb sits. Follow a safe route to the socket, not a straight line across a path. Choose a different size or position if the supplied lead will not reach. Our outdoor-light safety guide covers RCDs, damaged cables and component ratings.
Think about putting it away, too
Spread the net out gently when fitting it and take it down without pulling from one corner. Let it dry before storage if the instructions permit, then fold it loosely so you can find its edges next year. The dimensions and features above come from exact UK listings checked on 19 October 2026. We haven’t fitted or weather-tested these nets.
Frequently asked questions
Are net lights good for an uneven hedge?
A net is easiest on a fairly flat, regular hedge face. On a tapered shrub or a hedge with gaps, a flexible string can be easier to spread neatly.
What does 3m by 2m mean for net lights?
It is the seller-listed width and depth of the lit mesh, not the lead to the plug. Measure the visible face of your hedge in both directions before ordering.
Can I fold a net to make it smaller?
A little gathering may help at an edge, but a deeply folded net can bunch lights and strain wires. A closer-fitting size is usually easier to place and store.
Does an IP rating cover the plug too?
Not necessarily. Check the instructions for the net, connectors, transformer and plug separately, and keep each part only where the maker allows.
